Early childhood education fees
The client fees are determined on the basis of the size and income of the family and the number of hours that a child participates in early childhood education and care. The client fee is determined on the basis of the taxable earned income and capital income as well as tax-exempt income of the child, the child's parent or other guardian, and the married spouse or domestic partner of the parent or guardian living in the same household with the parent or guardian. To determine the charge, guardians must always provide some documentation, such as a payslip, proof of studying, decision on unemployment benefit etc. If the required certificates are not supplied, the maximum fee will be charged.
The maximum fee for the first child is EUR 311 per month. If there is more than one child in a family, the fee for the family's second child is at most 40 % of the fee for the family’s youngest child. The fee for the family's next children is 20 % of the fee charged for the youngest child.
The municipality will charge a fee that is in proportion to the time the child spends in early childhood education and care:
- full time ECEC
- 85-105 hours per month – 70 % fee
- 106-146 hours per month – 85 % fee
